Problems To Shape Us, Not Erase Us

There was a note, But in that one moment, nobody cared, They just stared; A body of a loved one lies at the top of those stairs.

It listed the reasons why it had to be done; It listed the people creating problems That caused you to run.

Sure, we could play six degrees of separation all day, But the fact of the matter is: There are people deeply saddened, They wanted you to stay.

This scenario doesn’t have to happen, This shouldn’t be something you have to imagine. I don’t deny that your problems are bad, We all have problems too; You cry for them, they won’t cry for you, But when they imprint a bruise, Don’t take that one step further; You are always loved by someone, Even if it’s not who you choose.

So own your problems, wear them on your sleeves. And if your shirt doesn’t have any, Wear them on the heart that still beats, In the person who goes to bed at night, but never sleeps; They dream, Their head pointed in the direction, Of a future with all the things they can achieve, With a new type of mentality; A world where you do not resign into neutrality.
