Who Is Really The Failure?

~2 min read

Negativity is meant to stop us, and initially, it does cause a lot of pain. But when we come to the realization that it did not stop us, merely serving as a setback, its power diminishes. We reclaim control over those challenging experiences and can use them as catalysts for positive transformation.

I’m not proud of the fact I can’t fully rid the pain. But I’m proud, I remain intact  enough I can begin to say:

To whomever lies inside…

I’m the director so take five.

Yes, trust me, I’ll be alright; In your short absence I’ll survive.

To be blunt, you are all bark without the bite. Surely, you would have killed me long ago,  if you didn’t need me alive.

Contrived your darndest at times  to make me writhe; even turned the heat up, but you still couldn’t insert that “h” in my life. Instead, you fueled inspiration by creating more ammo with which to write. Understand, I may have appeared the perfect target, but I'm not your guy.

Should have known that when I refused to hide. Climbed out the pit, I’ll admit, I was down for a bit, But I rose to undesirable heights; All to prove one day I’d deal the final strike and soon conclude this fight.

Unlike you, I don’t make threats, I make promises. You rushed hastily into my life, so I forgive you  for not knowing who you’ve messed with. But I’ve got some demons Who need to be shown a lesson, And your swift absence Will definitely send the message.

You fool!

How did you think you could secure a ransom? Trying to convince me I was worthless, ugly on the surface,  far from handsome? Convincing me I had no purpose, looping negative thoughts like cursive, till all I wanted to be was a phantom?

Has anyone told you that’s not a great way to secure the bag, that’s not a great way to impress your dad. I bet the Devil told you this was the last job, to promote yourself to the top. But he deals in half-truths, meaning he was half right to allude this was your last stop.
